FC Bracknell’s Football 4 All initiative is up for a Berkshire Football Award in the category of Best Community Campaign or Content sponsored by Reading FC Community.
The club run the sessions every Wednesday between 7 and 8pm at Wildridings playing fields with a focus on giving adults with disabitlities, sensory issues and learning difficulties the opportunity to play football in a fun and safe environment.
One nomination for the award said: FC Bracknell have been doing Football 4 all for around 9 months. It involves adults with disabilities, sensory issues, learning difficulties etc. It helps with social interaction, learning, making friends, fitness and football in a fun environment. The players have a blast!”
Another added: “This program allows individuals who would not normally get the chance to play football to get out and learn, have fun and meet new people.”
A third simply said: “The guys are making football accessible to those who wouldn’t normally be able to enjoy the game. They make such a difference to people’s lives.”
