Reading FC Women goalkeeper Grace Moloney took the plaudits after pulling off a match-winning penalty shoot-out save against Leicester City in the Vitality FA Women’s Cup on Sunday evening.
After claiming the number one jersey at the Select Car Leasing Stadium, Moloney has had to play backup to Northern Ireland number one Jacqui Burns who has impressed over a series of games this season, not least in front of a record crowd in Reading last weekend for the FA WSL defeat to Manchester United.
Moloney though got precious minutes in the cup tie and stepped up to save the final penalty that saw Reading through to the Fifth Round.

For Slough-born Moloney – who has played over 200 times for Reading – it was certainly a moment to savour and celebrate after a tough 2022 and certainly gives boss Kelly Chambers some food for thought ahead of the trip to Liverpool on Sunday.
