Reading FC Women manager Kelly Chambers has won the FA WSL November Manager of the Month award.
Chambers was up against Chelsea’s Emma Hayes and Arsenal’s Jonas Eidevall for the award which was announced at lunchtime on Thursday.
The Royals boss saw her side overcome a tough start to the FA WSL season to win three and draw one game in November against Birmingham City (3-0), West Ham United (2-2), Crystal Palace (3-1) and Brighton & Hove Albion (2-0).
Writing on Twitter, Chambers said: “I think any manager would say that it’s nice to pick up the reward, but it is about the team.”
On the club’s official website, Chambers continued: “The players, the staff, yes I am the one that makes the decisions but I wouldn’t be able to make those decisions without the team.
“Those decisions are educated from the work that the coaching staff & I do, to work out the way we are going to play, analysing our opposition and then being able to deliver that to the players so they can perform on the pitch.
“Speaking of the players, they have been magnificent to put in the performances they have and pick up as many points as they did. So this award is for us all.”
There was also a Royal up for the Player of the Month award, Natasha Dowie was nominated for the gong which was ultimately won by Chelsea’s Jessie Fleming.
