Football is on its way back for dozens of women’s footballers in Berkshire following a vote by the members of the Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League (TVCWFL) on one of two motions.

A unanimous decision was made during the SGM meeting on Monday night to continue the season as football returns on the 29th March.

Games will resume on Sunday 4th April, with the season set to be complete on the 31st May.

Motion 1 – If the home team’s pitch is not available (including double headers), the game must be switched, giving 7 days’ notice or an alternative pitch found, otherwise the match/ matches will be awarded to the away team.

Motion 2 – Outcome of the divisions will be decided by points for a completed division as per normal. Fixtures will be prioritised to try and ensure that the top two places in all divisions can be decided by points, and for Divisions 1 and 2, the bottom two places. In the event that a division has been completed sufficiently to determine the top 2 standings by the 31st May the remaining fixtures shall be void, and finishing positions as they stand on the 31st May. Where a division cannot be determined by points by the 31st May, the placing will revert to points per games, as long as a team has completed 66% of their fixtures. In the event that a team hasn’t completed 66% (including awarded games) then they will not be considered in the points per games final placing and results shall be expunged.
