The East Berkshire Football League has announced plans to host an ‘all star’ match to raise funds for the Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
The match will see an EBFL side take on unbeaten 2019/20 Premier Division champions Old Windsor at Burnham Football Clubs Gore home on a date to be confirmed.
The EBFL team will be made up of players from it’s member clubs and is asking for each team to donate one player each for the squad.
A statement on the EBFL website says all funds raised will go to the NHS Trust: “The East Berkshire Football League is extremely grateful for all the selfless hard work done by Berkshire Healthcare to battle COVID-19 in these difficult times and we want to give something back.
“When it is safe for football to return, the League will host a match to raise funds for Berkshire Healthcare. The match will see Old Windsor Football Club (our current champions) play an EBFL Representative Side at Burnham Football Club on a Friday evening.
“Our member Clubs have been asked to donate for a player to feature in the representative side while Burnham FC has agreed that all gate receipts and bar takings are to be donated to the NHS.”
The league have already launched their JustGiving page and it is open for donations here.
