Former Woodley United and Bracknell Town forward Sam Barratt will have another crack at professional football in 2019/20 after Southend United extended his contract.
The Essex based League One side narrowly avoided relegation on goal difference last season but Barratt’s first year as a professional footballer ended in August after he suffered a long term knee injury.
Barratt, who burst on to the scene at Bracknell before winning the National League South with Maidenhead United, has had an option for another year on his original contract taken on by the club.
According to the Southend Echo, Barratt’s season ended last year after just one just one first team appearance before suffering a cruciate ligament injury when lining up for the under 23s against Stevenage.
Football in Bracknell would like to wish Sam all the best for the season ahead. We hope to have an interview lined up with him over the summer!
