Former Bracknell Town attacker Dan Roberts has settled quickly in to his new Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division club.
The forward moved ‘on loan’ to Windsor over the summer with Bracknell boss Carl Davies saying: “He needs a season playing men’s football and it was a mutual agreement that he plays at Windsor until he’s ready to play for us.”
That move already appears to be paying dividends for Windsor boss Mick Woodham who has started Roberts in both the clubs opening league fixtures with the youngster scoring in both games.
At Brimscombe & Thrupp on Saturday, Roberts opened the scoring from a free kick after 18 minutes of a game Windsor ultimately lost, where as on Tuesday night he was on target with his new sides 6th in a 6-1 win over Shrivenham at Stag Meadow.
Windsor goalkeer Hugo Sobte was quick to jump on the Roberts band wagon tweeting: “Assist pen save and 3 points love it boys Dan Roberts scoring again shock…”
Speaking to Football in Bracknell, Roberts said: “It’s been a positive start and I have settled quickly and all the lads have been so welcoming, as well as Mick and everyone involved at the club. I’m happy to be getting in amongst the goals as well which is of course important for my game and I hope I can continue scoring goals and helping the team do well this season.”
On Saturday, Windsor are in FA Cup action when they host Southern League Highworth Town at Stag Meadow.
