Berks County’s ‘all rounder’ Steve Kay has been nominated for an EPC Bracknell Football Award in the category of ‘Volunteer of the Season’.

Among the nominations received for Steve, one says: “Steve Kay is Berks County FC’s club secretary, treasurer and membership manager. He has been the driving force behind building up a girls section of 4 age groups at the club over the past 3 years, alongside dealing with issues in relation to the junior boys teams.

Not only does Steve do all the administration and makes sure everything is in place for matches to go ahead, he also spends most of his Friday evenings or Saturday mornings cutting pitches, line marking pitches or any necessary jobs that need to be done prior to matches often at multiple sites.

Tireless

He has worked tirelessly for the club, and has sacrificed watching his own children play football in order to manage other age groups. He does all this on top of his day job at McClaren. He has gone above and beyond for Berks County FC and the community.

The Bracknell Football Awards ceremony night will take place on Wednesday 4th June at Binfield FC. You can see all the nominations for all the awards here.
