Flackwell Heath lead the way for second Hellenic Premier Division promotion slot

Bracknell Town in third but have higher points per game ratio

You may or may not be aware but thanks to an FA league restructure, there are potentially two promotion spots available to Hellenic Premier Division clubs this season.

We’ve covered the reasons why and how the teams will be decided in a bit more depth here but in short – two new divisions are being created above step 5 (Hellenic Premier Division) in the Non League Pyramid.

This means instead of just the 14 winners of each step 5 league being promoted there are an extra 12 slots available (26 in total) to the sides in second place. Who these teams are will be decided on a points per game (PPG) basis.

We’ll attempt every few weeks to keep you up to date with how things stand. Thankfully someone on thebootifulgame.co.uk website has setup a rather fine league table to monitor the situation. You can see it for yourself here.

The obvious focus here for us will be Bracknell Town’s challenge for a promotion spot, but it’s Flackwell Heath who are currently in second place and their PPG of 2.13 see’s them in 25th place, just scraping in to the top 26.

Bracknell’s current PPG is 2.21 which would be enough for promotion should they manage to overtake the Heathans in the Hellenic Premier Division.

The top second place side in the English Non League system currently is Wessex Premier Division side Andover Town who are on 2.83 and behind them is Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division side Welwyn Garden City on 2.78.

Finally, top of the whole thing is Hellenic Premier leaders Highworth Town who are the only side with a 100% record at step five and have a perfect 3 PPG score.

Editors note: We’re not sure how regularly the table is updated as it currently doesn’t include the midweek results from this week.
