Reading Women have signed England’s record international appearance maker Fara Williams, so we thought we’d have a quick scour of YouTube to find out exactly what the Royals can expect from the midfielder.
The answer is some absolutely blinding goals. The main video above shows Fara Williams scoring for Liverpool straight from kick off, an audacious strike in itself – but even more so given 30 seconds earlier the Reds goalkeeper Libby Stout had been lobbed herself.
This next video shows Williams keeping her cool to secure England third place at the 2015 Women’s World Cup from the penalty spot:
Another goal for Liverpool here, this one starts 25 seconds in:
She’s definitely not shy from range as this goal of the month candidate shows (Williams is from 1:40):
And here she is scoring twice for Liverpool in a big win over Doncaster Belles:
On signing for Reading, Williams said: “I’m hoping to win trophies here, I’m not here to make up numbers, and Kelly is not a manager that is satisfied finishing below the top four. The club wants to win trophies and I want to be a part of it.”
