The unofficial Fleet Town twitter account has slammed the match referee’s decision to postpone tonight’s Aldershot Senior Cup Quarter Final tie with Sandhurst Town as ‘pathetic’.
The account – which is independent from the club – had earlier stated the pitch was playable unless there was a significant down poor but the match – due to kick off at 7.45pm – was called off because the referee didn’t believe it would be a ‘good game’.
In the first of two tweets the accound run by ‘Mr Fleet’ called it ‘the most ludicrous decision I have ever seen’.

The match would have been a stern test for the Fizzers two days after a big effort at Binfield in the League Cup. Fleet – 17th in Evo Stik Southern League Division 1 Central and two levels higher were expected to rest players this evening while Sandhurst would have been without captain Harry Oakley who is starting a spell on the sidelines with injury.
