Wokingham & Emmbrook’s penultimate game in the Uhlsport Hellenic Premier League before returning to Division 1 East see’s them welcome Ardley United to Henley’s Triangle Ground this evening.

The Sumas have had a tough and congested calendar like most (Brimscombe’s run-in being one extreme example – external link) at the end of this weather affected Hellenic League season but tonight will be their third game in five days.

First the positives for co-managers Dan Bateman and Matt Eggleston – who are seeking talks with the Sumas committee ahead of next seasonJake Butler is back and available after missing the last four games.

Now the bad, they have to contend with a quartet of injured players in Dan Collier, Sam Duffelen, Sam Bateman and Josh Pearson all out of tonights match.

Cup focus

The Sumas pulled off an impressive draw at Highmoor at the weekend, but will now be firmly focussed on Monday night’s Reading Senior Cup quarter-final with Binfield – a competition they have won for five consecutive seasons.

There will be a number of players looking to squeeze into that squad and impressing this evening in what is a ‘nothing game’ for the visitors may just be enough to turn the heads of the management.
