Thatcham Town will begin the search for a new manager after Yashwa Romeo confirmed his departure.
The Kingfishers, winners of the FA Vase in 2018, were relegated from Step 4 last season after struggling to adapt to life in the Southern League.
The club were switched from the Isthmian League in the summer of 2024 where they had shown regular improvement.
Now the side will be back competing at Step 5 in the Combined Counties League Premier Division South.
In a statement released on social media, Romeo – the former Maidenhead United and Marlow striker – said: “It’s with a heavy heart that my time at Thatcham Town has come to an end. We’ve mutually agreed to go our separate ways. It’s the right time for someone else to take over. Thanks to all the fans and the Thatcham Ultras following us home and away.”
The news comes a few days after an announcement that Phil Holdaway had been appointed Acting Chairman following the departure of Paul Ayres.
A statement said: “Phil brings strong leadership & experience to guide the club during this transitional period as we seek a permanent Chairman.”
