Woodley United confirm Jordan Blake future after ‘great escape’

Combined Counties League Division One side Woodley United have confirmed the future of their manager Jordan Blake after completing ‘the great escape’ last season.

The Kestrels, who beat Oxhey Jets 5-0 in their final game of the season, were catapulted out of the drop zone on the final matchday of the season having occupied the bottom three all year.

The final night drama saw Woodley jump ahead of Windsor who were held to a 2-2 draw at Eversley & California.

Ultimately, all three sides that finished in the relegation zone have been reprieved, but Blake’s leadership and commitment has been rewarded with the news he will remain in charge at The Rivermoor next season.

In a statement on Social Media the club confirmed the news: “Men’s First Team Manager Jordan Blake and his coaching staff commit to the 25/26 season.”

Blake meanwhile tweeted: “Looking forward to another season. The club has grown a lot both on and off the pitch since I came in three years ago. We will continue to push to be better than last season.”

Woodley United are also on the hunt for a new physio – a paid position. Anyone interested in the role should email the club.
