Following the news that Reading FC Women would be demoted to the Southern Region Women’s Football League following the catastrophic ownership decision of Dai Yongge, the Royals have announced 16 departures from the club.
The departures include players with international experience including Northern Ireland goalkeeper Jacqueline Burns and Cameroon’s Easther Mayi Kith, as well as seven academy graduates including Tia Primmer who emerged under former manager Kelly Chambers.
The players announced departing are: Deanna Cooper, Charlie Wellings, Tia Primmer, Madison Perry, Ava Kuyken, Lauren Wade, Brooke Hendrix, Easther Mayi Kith, Charlie Estcourt, Georgia Wilson, Mae Hunt, Amelia Elwood, Josie Longhurst, Jackie Burns, Bethan Roberts and Eve Annets.
It is not that long ago that Reading celebrated survival in tier two of women’s football in England, and only slightly longer that the Royals were dining at the top table in the FA WSL.
Royals have been confirmed as facing Ascot United and Woodley United in the SRWFL Premier Division next season.
