Combined Counties League Division One side Eversley & California have unveiled their new boss following the departure of Matty Angell to Windsor & Eton.
The Boars have had a successful couple of seasons finishing in the play-offs in 2022 and 10th last season.
Angell announced his departure at the start of June, taking up the vacancy at newly formed Windsor & Eton.
Eversley have now announced that Matthew Brown will take over the hot seat at Fox Lane, releasing a statement saying: “The club is pleased to announce that Matthew Brown has been appointed as our new First Team Manager.
“Matt is a UEFA A license coach having done tremendous work at Chelsea, Portsmouth and Leicester City as well as experience at non-league level with Westfield FC, coupled with a great professional playing career in Europe.”
An interview on the Westfield website from June 2020 reveals Brown has played in Belgium, Germany and U.S.A.
A Boars spokesperson said: “We were extremely pleased with the way Matt came across in his interview, his level of detail from coaching to analysis as well as his commitment to play progressive football and promote from within the club. These represent the core values of Eversley & California Football Club and we look forward to seeing his hard work play out on the pitch.”
Matt will be starting his work at the club at the weekend and will start of preseason on Tuesday evening with the players and his coaching staff.
Off the pitch, Eversley were able to celebrate this week as Jade Dobson picked up the Volunteer of the Season award at the Berkshire Football Awards on Wednesday.
