Eversley & California will be without a pivotal figure going forward after club captain Ali Dickie announced the curtailment of his competitive football career.

Dickie – a Boar since 2018 – played 85 times for Eversley and began his career at Binfield where he featured for the Moles Allied Counties and Suburban League sides as well as the first team, making his debut in 2014 against Thame United.

A statement from Eversley said: “After suffering a snapped ACL in the Division One Play-off Semi Final at the end of last season, we are saddened to announce Ali Dickie has curtailed his competitive football career.

“It’s been an absolute pleasure to have Ali at the club with both his on the pitch and off the pitch efforts being exemplary and we wish him luck for the future.”

Football in Berkshire would like to wish Ali all the best for the future.
