Maidenhead United Women have confirmed the departure of first team manager Ryan Taylor. His statement read as follows:
“Following the completion of our National League campaign I informed the players that I would be stepping down from my position at the club due to personal reasons, which the players have been well aware of since the turn of the new year” explained Ryan.
“The decision to step down was a very hard one to make. But I have to be realistic, and with everything going on I feel that I cannot commit the time deserved and required to keep moving this project forward. I would like to think the foundations have been put in place for my successor to move this squad forward again next season whilst also continuing the development away from the pitch.”
“Having had time to reflect on the season, we have managed to achieve many National League milestones, including our highest ever leave position, fewest defeats and most clean sheets to name but a few. However, another key objective for us was to beat our highest ever points total, which ultimately we managed to equal following the point gained in our final fixture. Personally, I am disappointed not to have achieved this target, having had many opportunities to claim all 3 points in many of the games we drew this season. In terms of individual performances, the stand-out for me was going away to Exeter City who were unbeaten in 4 months at the time of playing them with the most potent strike force in our division and coming away with a clean sheet and 1-0 victory.”
“Lastly, I would like to put on record that I am very thankful to have had the opportunity to work with this great club, back-room staff and this talented group of players and will be keeping a keen eye on their progress in future campaigns. Up the Magpies.”
