Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Division One Sandhurst Town have announced their new manager for the forthcoming 2020/21 season.

Ben Nwachukwu is the man charged with replacing Michael Herbert who departed for Hellenic League Penn & Tylers Green at the beginning of April.

A statement on social media from the Fizzers said: “We are delighted to announce Ben Nwachukwu as our manager for the new season in the Combined Counties League. Ben will play a key role as we start a new and exciting chapter in Sandhurst Town history.”

A statement on the Sandhurst website revealed Nwachukwu has had coaching experience with QPR’s foundation development team, Crystal Palace’s educational academy, as well as the head coach of the first and second team of Queen Mary University Football Club.

The Fizzers finished the 2019/20 in seventh place and were in amongst a number of clubs who could have sealed a top four spot and promotion to step five had the season concluded.

It will almost certainly be a new-look Fizzers who take to the field in 2020/21, a good portion of the squad followed Herbert to Penn & Tylers following the former boss’ switch.
