Jamie Tompkins staying at Ascot United as management team confirmed

Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division side Ascot United have moved quickly to confirm the management team at the Racecourse Ground following the departure of Head Coach Aaron Steadman.

Steadman confirmed he had left the Racecourse Ground to pursue more full time opportunities in a statement posted on social media.

The Yellamen have confirmed through a statement on www.ascotunited.net that Jamie Tompkins has committed to continue as manager for the 2019/20 season and that Assistant Coach Dan Masters would step up as Assistant Manager.

Tompkins, who led the side to a 7th place finish in the division as well as a 3-1 Bluefin Sport Challenge Cup Final win over Windsor on Bank Holiday Monday said: “I am delighted to announce that I will be continuing in the role of First Team Manager at the club for next season.

“Having received offers from elsewhere, this is the football club I am committed to and want to be at. With the new 3G pitch and other projects coming to fruition, the football club is entering an exciting period and I am full of confidence that our extremely talented squad will continue to build on the progressive and successful season that we have just enjoyed.

“I’d also like to thank our fans, sponsors and volunteers for the excellent support they continuously show to the club and we look forward to seeing them again for the 2019/20 season.”

Neil Richards, the Yellamen’s Director of Football said: “This is a massive boost for the club in a period of transition; Jamie has done a great job and is well respected at this level of football. To retain his services demonstrates our ambition to continue to grow both on and off the pitch in the future”
