Bostik League South Central Division One side Bracknell Town have moved quickly to appoint a new manager following the departure of Geoff Warner on Tuesday afternoon.
The new man in is former National League side Maidenhead United assistant boss Sam Lock who announced earlier this month he was leaving the Magpies after a long association with the club to become a manager in his own right.
Lock – who has signed a two year contract at Larges Lane, was assistant to Alan Devonshire at York Road as United won promotion to the top tier of non league football in 2016/17 and stabilised over the last two seasons in the division.
Bracknell also confirmed the club had appointed Ascot United’s Head Coach Aaron Steadman as First Team Coach.
Steadman, who left Ascot this week, and Lock had both previously been involved at Maidenhead. The Robins new first team coach led the Berks & Bucks FA under 18 side to the South West County title this season and won the Bluefin Sport Hellenic League Challenge Cup with Ascot.
The club have also confirmed that Michael Butcher will remain at the club. The new managerial structure sent to Football in Bracknell by the club shows former Binfield development team manager Ross Weatherstone listed as the clubs new reserve team manager. FiB understands that will be the clubs new Combined Counties League team.
Weatherstone was previously manager of Thames Valley Premier League side Woodcote Stoke Row and led Binfield to Suburban League Cup title this season.
