There have been plenty of managerial changes already ahead of the 2018/19 season, plenty of transfers of players but what you may not know is that a number of clubs are also switching grounds.

It’s common knowledge that Wokingham & Emmbrook will spend the season at Bracknell Town but we’ve asked the question of Woodley United and Berks County who will leave their Bracknell Sport Centre ground.

The Kestrels of courser will play under new manager Jon Laugharne after the former Finchampstead boss replaced James Anderson following the clubs return to the Hellenic League Division 1 East.

Larges Lane, Bracknell

We’ve covered this one elsewhere regarding Wokingham & Emmbrook remaining in the Hellenic League, but the Sumas will ground share for the second time with Bracknell Town for the coming season.

The club have work to do this coming season to get their Lowther Road ground up to scratch though they have already cleared the biggest hurdle in terms of planning permission.

Club president Mark Ashwell is leading the work to get the ground ready for the 2019/20 season.

Lowther Road, Wokingham

Wokingham moving their first team games to Bracknell opened up a vacancy at Lowther Road – their reserve team will still play their but Berks County have confirmed they will also play in the borough.

The Swords have played their Thames Valley Premier League games out of Bracknell Sport Centre for many years.

Chairman Richard Lloyd said: “Lowther Road gives us an excellent platform to play step 7 football for a year whilst the football club decides on the next step it takes in it’s path to progression to Step 6.

“Thank you to Wokingham for their hard work in getting this agreement off of the ground.”

However, the Thames Valley Premier League have issued a statement saying: “The ground share has to be approved by Thames Valley Premier League.  This has not been done as yet due to clarification required from both Wokingham and Berks County on a number of issues.”

Scours Lane, Reading

Woodley United have confirmed they will continue to play out of Reading City’s Scours Lane ground despite their relegation to the Hellenic League Division 1 East at the end of last season.

We spoke to club secretary Mark Rozzier at the Football in Bracknell awards night and he that the Kestrels would continue at the Rivermoor [Scours Lane].
