It will be East vs West Berkshire in the Hellenic League’s Perpetua Press Floodlit Cup Final after Thatcham Town booked their place in the final against Binfield.
The match is yet to be scheduled but Binfield booked their place after a fine 3-1 win over Flackwell Heath on 20th March while Thatcham beat Bracknell Town 2-0 on Thursday night.
For Binfield it’s their sixth final under manager Roger Herridge, and all concerned will hope it’s sixth time lucky with the Moles yet to lift a trophy.
Reunion
Binfield will be reunited with several former players as Jemel Johnson and Harrison Bayley turning out for Thatcham while Keith Pennicott-Bowen is a coach at the Blues.
Former striker Liam Ferdinand won’t be available for the final though as he is cup tied – the same reason he won’t feature in the FA Vase Wembley showpiece having already featured for Bracknell Town.
The Moles have their own contingent of ex Thatcham players with both Josh Howell and Ian Davies spending time at Waterside Park.
