Woodley United Ladies up for semi final challenge

Kestrels face Maidenhead United in last four

It’s a very tough proposition on Sunday for Woodley United Ladies but one they are relishing as they travel to Maidenhead United in the Semi-Final of the Berks & Bucks FA County Senior Women’s Cup.

The Magpies ladies team ply their trade two levels up the pyramid in the FA Women’s Premier League South West Division 1 and will rightfully start heavy favourites but Woodley manager Marc Surtees is relishing the test telling The Wokingham Paper this week that they believe they can give the Magpies a run for their money.

If Woodley are to win through to the final, either Rosie Page-Smith  or May Hamblin might be the lady to fire in the winning goal with those two heading the league scoring charts with 17 goals and 13 goals respectively in all competitions.

Kick-off is 2pm on Sunday at York Road with entry £3 and we wish Woodley the very best of luck.
