In news that will delight Bracknell Town supporters, new man Geoff Warner has joined the Robins coaching staff ‘because the club have a very good setup’.

Warner, who last week stepped down as manager of Evo-Stik Southern League side Beaconsfield SYCOB to join the Robins is a former Crystal Palace and Reading Academy coach and led his former side to a very respectable 9th placed finish in Division 1 Central last season.

‘They have got a very good set up’

The now ex-Rams boss is one of several changes to the managerial line-up at Larges Lane, while Wokingham & Emmbrook boss Clive McNelly announced some changes of his own less than 24 hours later.

An excerpt from an article on getbucks.co.uk by Tim Street reads “The former Crystal Palace and Reading academy coach only took over as Rams boss a year ago and led them to an impressive ninth place in the Southern League Division One Central.

“It may seem somewhat surprising then that he has stepped down a level to join a side in the Hellenic Premier, but his assistant Andy Hurley, who has remained at SYCOB, shed some light.”

Hurley said in a press release also covered by the Non-League Paper: “Geoff knows some people over at Bracknell, where they have got a very good set up, and it’s closer to where he lives.”

Bracknell Town kick-off their 2016/17 pre-season campaign on Saturday 9th July when Camberley Town are the visitors for a game at Easthampstead Park School artificial surface. Full details on all Berkshire clubs pre-season games are here.
