There will be a newish name in the Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Premier Division North next season.

Edgware Town – who finished eighth in 2021/22 – will become Edgware & Kingsbury Football Club following an announcement on the clubs social media channels.

Reformed in 2014 as a Spartan South Midlands League side after a seven-year absence, the clubs revealed they were changing the name to better reflect its current geographical location.

A statement said: “The club has decided to embrace our new wider geographical reach by renaming the football club. This will help us incorporate, welcome and serve the people in the area that we now play in.”

A history of Edgware Town is available on the club website here.
