Pre season is now well and truly underway with most clubs on their second or third fixture of the campaign ahead of it all kicking-off on 1st August.
FootballinBracknell spoke to Binfield manager Roger Herridge about his new players, the players who have moved on and how the squad is shaping up.
We are now entering the third week of pre season and I am really happy with the way things are progressing . The squad is taking shape really quickly and the new players are blending well with the existing ones.
It was great to get our pre season schedule off to a winning start on Saturday with our win against Badshot Lea. There were a lot of good performances, I have previously mentioned our young number two goalkeeper Liam Vaughan but both Michael Walton and new signing James Charlton were outstanding.

Another new signing Tom Williams was also fantastic scoring both our goals and unlucky not to grab a hat trick as he linked well with a potential new signing we had playing in the no.9 role on the afternoon.
On Tuesday night we travelled to Alton Town for our second pre season friendly with a few changes from the weekend. We have a number of players back and available for the game with Jake White, Alex Walton, Jack Broome and Callum Carlisle in the squad . We also have two potential new signings who will play at least 45 minutes in the game.

As always there are players that have exited the club during the close season and I would like to wish those lads all the best for the future.
Moving on
As recently announced both Jemel Johnson and Josh Howell have moved to Thatcham Town with Carl Withers deciding to join a number of our former players at Bracknell Town.
All three have given great service to Binfield FC over many seasons , they are all at different stages of there football careers but were looking for a new challenge and I have to respect that.

I would have liked Josh to have stepped up a level in all honesty, he has come on leaps and bounds over the last two seasons . I don’t think it will be long before he does though as I have recommended to contacts that I have at higher levels that they should keep close tabs on his progress .
JJ and Withs like Josh never let me down in my time as Binfield Manager and will always be welcome back at Hill Farm Lane. I certainly won’t be losing contact with them, it will seem strange not to have them around.
Lewis Leonetti, Brad Brown, Nathan Silver and Chris Dean are four others that won’t be seen in a Moles shirt this season. My best wishes go out to these guys too for whatever they decide to do.
