Reading FC head to Bracknell Town for a Berks & Bucks County FA Senior Cup Second Round tie on Tuesday 27th November.
It’s definitely a match you could tag with ‘eagerly awaited’ but what sort of side will the Royals put out? The club have already confirmed it will be an under 23 side that will take to the field in the competition and the first team are away at Leeds United in the EFL Championship on the same evening.
Given Reading Football Club fall a little bit outside our remit, we thought we’d ask getreading’s Royals reporter Jonathan Low for a run down of the players who could run out at Larges Lane.
There’s still time to get tickets for the fixture, full details here. And for all the latest news make sure you join the facebook event here:
Without further ado, here is Jonathan with the low down on the Reading side Bracknell Town may face:
GOALKEEPER
Luke Southwood
Highly-rated shotstopper who won the World Cup with England U20s last year. He is yet to play for the Reading first team but has been involved on matchdays as the third choice goalkeeper this season.
Other option: Adam Desbois (U18s).
DEFENCE
Teddy Howe
Son of former Reading CEO Nigel, Howe is a tall right-back who likes to get forward
down the wing. He has played nine times for the U23s this season.
Tom McIntyre
The centre-back has been capped by Scotland’s U21 and U20 teams in recent months. He spent most of last season out injured but has featured 12 times this campaign.
Andre Burley
Usually plays as the left-sided centre-back and is strong on the ball.
Ramarni Medford-Smith
The U23s’ main left-back, playing on 10 occasions.
Other options: Jamal Balogun, Cameron Green, Akinwale Odimayo.
MIDFIELD
Tyler Frost
Youngster who can play across the midfield and likes to get on the ball. He has scored twice this season.
Darren Sidoel
Dutch central midfield who was signed from Ajax over the summer.
Ryan East
Candidate for Premier League youth player of the month in September after a string of fine performances. Has trained with the first team in the past.
Ethan Coleman
Mainly been used as a sub this season but does have a goal to his name.
Other options: Moroyin Omolabi, Jack Nolan, Conor Lawless (U18s), Michael Olise (U18s).
ATTACK
Danny Loader
The man of the moment for club and country (England U19s), with 10 goals in 11 games for the U23s. Plenty of fans have been clamouring for him to be given a chance at first team level.
Ben House
Strong forward who was affectionately nicknamed ‘a battering ram’ by Paul Clement earlier this month. Recently called up by Scotland U20s.
Other options: Thierry Nevers (U18s), Ricky Hansen (U18s).
