Henley Town lifted the Reading Senior Cup for the first time in it’s 100+ year history last night thanks to a dramatic 5-3 extra time win over Binfield at Madejski Stadium.

But it wasn’t just drama on the pitch as the Red Kites came from 3-1 down to beat the Moles – runners up now two seasons in succession – thanks to goals from Sean Moore, Ben Clark, Asa Povey Richard Bennett and Liam Tindell.

During the excitement of lifting the cup, the Henley players managed to drop the solid silver trophy on to the Madejski Stadium turf, hitting one of the substitutes on the way down before Jonathan Malone gathers himself and returns the prize to his team mates.
