The Plaion Launchpad Berkshire 5s is coming to Reading City Football Club on Sunday 27th July 2025.
The tournament encourages mixed teams of men and women and is open to businesses around the Thames Valley with 100% of profits going to Reading-based homeless charity Launchpad.
The tournament is limited to eight teams. Entry is £40 per player with a minimum requirement of ten players.
All you need to know
The tournament is organised by Football in Berkshire in conjunction with Launchpad (Charity No. 279859) and our partners Plaion and Serious Sport.

About the Tournament
100% of the profits will go to Launchpad Reading.
The Launchpad Berkshire 5s, as the name suggests is a 5-aside competition. The format will be two groups of four, semi-finals and a placing final for each team entered (five games). The exact format and match duration is to be confirmed. Matches will be played on a grass surface.
Venue: Reading City Football Club.
Address: The Rivermoor, Scours Lane, Tilehurst, Reading RG30 6AY
Getting There: Plenty of parking on site. Nearest station is Tilehurst or Reading West.
On Site: Bar and food options
Teams are encouraged to be of mixed gender. It is not a rule but it is in the spirit of the competition. Squad numbers are not capped.
We are limited to eight teams in the competition with several spaces already confirmed – Football in Berkshire and Launchpad Reading will enter teams.
Teams will be able to design their own kit (shirts, shorts and socks) via Basingstoke-based Serious Sport for the competition. These can be individually customisable with player names and come as part of the sign-up fee (there is an additional fee for a truly bespoke kit if say, you wanted to have a massive Sonic The Hedgehog). Every teams shirt will be sponsored by Launchpad, but one sleeve will be available for a sponsor of your own – your 2025 charity partner for example.
Entry is £40 per player. There is a minimum of 10 players in the basic entry fee.

What is included in the £40 per player entry fee?
- Each business will be able to design and personalise (company logo, names and numbers) a kit for their team – this will be done using the Serious Sport Kit Builder – try it here. This will belong to the business at the end of the competition
- There is a small additional fee if you wish to design a bespoke kit – the option to do this is available to select when you enter the tournament
- All kits will be sponsored by Launchpad
- Each player will receive a medal at the end of the competition
- Each team will receive a placement trophy at the end of the competition
- Teams will have a designated space to set up camp – gazebos and chairs are not provided
