Dave Wright is up for a Berkshire Football Award in the category of Correspondent of the Season.
Dave has been a fixture in the Berkshire sport scene for decades, as a reporter and later Sports Editor at the Reading Evening Post, he went on to cover local football for the Bracknell News and Reading Chronicle. He still submits regular interviews and content to Football in Berkshire.
The nomination we received for the award said: “Dave Wright has been writing about grassroots sport since before most of us were bo. In latter years he’s focused on grassroots football and that is to our benefit. Dave gets on the phone, he gets out and interviews people and his skill in turning those comments into a finely-tuned piece should not be underestimated. That he has now moved away from the area but is still providing regular copy on the local game is a testament to the man he is, doing what he loves.”
