Combined Counties League Division One Langley are on the verge of a historic moment in the clubs history.

The Slough side head to Rayners Lane in the Division One Play Off Final on Monday afternoon with confidence after seeing off Berks County 7-1 in the Semi Final.

For Langley, a win would see the club compete at its highest level since a switch to the Hellenic League in 2018.

Pre 2018 the club played in the non-English Football Pyramid aligned East Berks Football League and became one of the last clubs to benefit from promotion out of the Hellenic Division 2 East after they finished runners-up in their first season.

The side ‘crashed’ the play offs on the final day of the season on goal difference having started the season like a rocket and were pegged as most likely challengers to champions Sandhurst Town.

A large number of those goals came from Flávio Gyawu-Kyem and Kushon Lewis-Thomas who hit the net 25 times each in all competitions while Jaiden Celestine-Charles hit 20.

Dip

A dip in form either side of Christmas put paid to any title hopes but a 3-0 win on the last day of the season at Spartans Youth earned the ambitious club another shot.

Now, Langley, who play at Arbour Park in Slough, are on the verge of taking the step up to the Combined Counties League Premier Division if they can get past Rayners Lane over 90 minutes and possibly penalties.
