Coming to the Berkshire Football Awards? Here’s everything you need to know

We've had questions!

Boost their chances:

How to get to Double Barrelled Brewery

Depending on where you are coming from, taking a train might well be a good way to get to the venue. Either Reading Station and then a number 17 bus or taxi, or Tilehurst Station and a taxi (or it’s a 20-minute walk).

The brewery address is: Unit 20, Stadium Way, Reading RG30 6BX

Car Parking? If you are driving you can park on-site for free. PLEASE make sure you input your licence plate when you enter the brewery as otherwise, you may find yourself with a parking ticket when you leave.

Unused tickets

We really want everyone who wishes to come to the awards night to be able to. So if you’ve bought a ticket but can’t use it, or know one of your party can’t attend please let us know. Drop a message to tom.canning@footballinbracknell.co.uk

Dress code

Whilst we’re not expecting you in a top hat, tails and ballgowns, we’d like to think that our idea of ‘going big’ means you want to look your best so the dress code is set as ‘smart casual’. No pressure though, please do come in whatever you’re most comfortable.

When can you arrive?

Doors will open at 6pm. The awards are due to start being presented at 7:30pm. Undoubtedly the FiB team will be scurrying around finishing things off but if you’d like to come and have a drink with us from 6 that would be great!

Who will we be sat with?

We’re going to do our best to put club bookings together and where some clubs have booked themselves a table that will be made clear. There will be place names at the tables for you. If you’ve booked four tickets, we’d expect to have those together.

Dietary requirements

If you have any, please let us know so we can inform Fink Street Food.

Will the awards be live-streamed?

The short answer is we don’t know yet. Keep an eye out on our socials for more information.

NOMINATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED!

Yes! The awards are taking place at the marvellous Double-Barrelled Brewery in Reading and we’ll have food available. Tickets will be limited but on sale from 28th May. If you’d like to know when, so you don’t miss out, make sure you’ve signed up to our email newsletter here.

Scroll down to the bottom of this article for the nomination form. Before you do that though, here’s what the judging panel are looking for when choosing the shortlist.

What’s the story? Tell us exactly why the person or place should be considered. We hate to get all ‘X Factor journey’ on you but the more detail you can include, the better we can argue for your nominee for the short list.

The sort of details we love to see include things like player awards, goals, clean sheets and any other significant contributions to the footballing community – obviously within the 2024/25 season.

We’ll publish all the nominees for the Berkshire Football Awards as we receive them.

You can view all the 2025 nominees so far here.

Want to know who’s previously won what at the Berkshire Football Awards? There’s a big long page with all the previous winners here.

Nominations will be open until midday on Monday 26th May 2025.

The Long List will be published on Wednesday 28th May and the Short List on Friday 30th May.

Once the nomination window has closed, the nominations in each category will be put before a panel of judges for a decision, the top four announced online and the winners at the awards night on Wednesday 18th June.

We will accept nominations for people out of area, the only prerequisite is that the reason for nomination is that it must be because of an affiliation with a club we cover on Football in Berkshire (a full list is at the bottom of this page). We will present certificates and a trophy to the winners.

  • All nominations are done by you, the Berkshire footballing public
  • You can nominate as many people as you like for each award – the quantity of nominations counts for the judging panel..
  • That said, quality is just as important, the more detail you provide about why you are nominating, the better
  • Please try and avoid nominating your own family members
  • Due to difficulties in obtaining permissions under child protection laws we won’t consider any player under the age of 16 for nomination in any of the categories
