Reading FC or MK Dons for Ascot United in the County Cup Final

The Yellamen will face another of the county's pro clubs in the final

Ascot United will play either Reading FC or MK Dons in the Final of the 2022 Berks & Bucks County FA Senior Men’s Cup following their 3-1 penalty shootout win over Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday night.

Louis Bouwers scored the decisive penalty in the shootout to send the Yellamen through following a 0-0 draw in normal time, knocking out EFL League One side Wycombe.

The match was watched by a club-record crowd of 1,267 at the Racecourse Ground, earning nearly £500 for local charities through online ticketing partner TicketPass.

The other semi-final between Reading and MK Dons is to be played on a date yet to be confirmed.

After the match, Ascot manager Jamie Tompkins said they’d love to play the final at one of the county’s three professional grounds but bringing the final back to the Racecourse would again show what non-league clubs can do.
