Defender Carl Davies has linked up with former Bracknell Town midfielder Gavin Smith at Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League side Badshot Lea.

Davies, most recently with Thame United but well known as an ex-Binfield centre forward and former captain and player/manager of Bracknell Town joins The Baggies for the 2020/21 season and will have a quick reunion with one of his former clubs in Saturday’s FA Cup opener.

Davies has featured once in Badshot’s three competitive fixtures so far, playing in Tuesday night’s 3-2 win over Sheerwater.

Announcing the signing on social media, the club’s twitter page said: “We are delighted to announce the signing of Carl Davies. Carl joins us after previously playing for Thame United, Bracknell Town and Binfield. His experience will be vital to the team and he will go into the squad for Tuesday vs Sheerwater.

Davies joins a couple of faces who will be familiar to Berkshire football fans with ex Ascot United defender Callum Carlisle in the squad along with former Eversley & California and Sandhurst Town striker Brad Brown.

Badshot have won one and lost one of their opening two league games this season so far and beat Amesbury Town 4-0 in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round.
