Reading City make three signings for Hellenic League campaign

Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division side Reading City have made three more signings ahead of the new season.

The club confirmed via twitter that Josh Blackwood, Jerry Foumboua and Arthur Furness have all joined the Rivermoor side.

Simon Johnson’s side narrowly avoided relegation last season but look to be building a strong squad for the new season and kicked off pre season on Saturday with a 1-1 draw against Bostik League side Marlow.

A midfielder or defender, Blackwood played 28 times for Division One East side AFC Aldermaston last season scoring 14 goals as the Atom Men finished third last season.

Foumboua adds something to City’s forward line that already includes Yashwa Romeo with Jerry having experience playing at the highest level in Sweden with BK Hacken and IFK Gothenburg.

The third addition, Furness joins from having played in the Welsh League Division 2 for Risca United as well as Cardiff Met Uni – the side currently making headlines with their UEFA Europa League qualification that see’s them host Progrès Niederkorn in the second leg on Thursday.
