Binfield manager Roger Herridge said he had ‘missed that feeling’ as the Wokingham Paper reported on the Moles penalty shootout Floodlit Cup win on Tuesday night, the first one in 2019.

Herridge added: “Lottery of penalties but we got what we deserved, showing great character to come from behind twice. “

Bracknell Town chairman Kayne Steinborn-Busse has been named an honourary member of CONIFA, the organisation behind the World Cup tournament that saw several games played at Larges Lane, reports the Bracknell News.

A CONIFA official said: “He was a great source of inspiration for those attending matches at Bracknell FC. He was always cheerful and truly embodies the spirit of the CONIFA family.”

The Herefordshire question has reared its head again for the Hellenic League as the 2018/19 season enters its closing stages.

Last season, four clubs applied to join the step 5 league including
Westfields, Pegasus Juniors, Wellington and Hereford Lads Club and now Lads Club boss Danny Moon says he will resign at the end of the season if the club don’t get the move this summer.

Reported in the Hereford Times, Moon said: “Unfortunately I have decided if we don’t get a move next season across to the Hellenic League I will be resigning.

“We haven’t got any friends in this league. We have worked hard raising a side and then we are left fighting against the officials.”
