Woodley United through in Hellenic League Supplementary Cup

..but who emerged victorious in the battle at the top of the Premier Division?

Woodley United and manager Jon Laugharne march on in the Hellenic League Supplementary Cup after a 4-2 win on Tuesday night at Milton United.

The Kestrels were a goal down after just four minutes but Chace Jewell levelled minutes later at Pablo Hernandez gave Laugharne’s side the lead on 24 minutes.

It was 2-2 on the hour but Jono Malone (pictured) and then Toby Briggs earned Woodley a Quarter Final spot with the other third round fixtures still to be played.

Elsewhere in the Hellenic Premier Division, Virginia Water were beaten 1-0 at home by Holmer Green and Wantage Town suffered a 2-1 defeat at home to Brimscombe & Thrupp as the Hellenic League title race took another twist.

Holyport’s Floodlit Cup tie against Thames Rangers was postponed and at Larges Lane, Bracknell Town defeated Infantry FC 9-0 in a friendly with Sean Moore hitting four, Liam Ferdinand and Max Herbert two each while Adam Cornell nabbed one.

There was also a senior debut for 16-year-old goalkeeper Jack Craske who came on as a 65th minute substitute for Chris Grace.
