Wokingham & Emmbrook manager Clive McNelly was ‘delighted’ when he spoke to FootballinBracknell this morning after confirming several returning stars to Lowther Road.

It’s been a week of smiles for Satsumas’ fans who celebrated returning home on Wednesday night and McNelly was able to secure the signatures of Jake Butler, goalkeeper Sean Woodward and James Payne.

Butler missed a number of games in the run in last season, and his return in the 2-0 defeat to Ardley United saw the youngster carted off to hospital with a serious looking head injury.

Woodward played 43 times as the Sumas were relegated and will once again be the number one between the sticks.

Promoting youth

McNelly was also able to confirm that Michael Valdambrini and Callum Woodfield have signed forms after impressing for the clubs under 16s East Berkshire Youth League side.

Both players made over 20 appearances in Division 1 while Woodfield scored 27 goals last season and the pair impressed in recent friendlies this pre season.
