It’s the weekend and it’s time for football. There are a host of sides at home this weekend while the game of the day will surely be the Hellenic League Division 1 East clash between Woodley United and Penn & Tylers Green.
All kick-offs 3pm unless otherwise stated.
Uhlsport Hellenic Premier League
Only five games in the Premier Division this weekend with a home game for Ascot United and Binfield on the road.
The Yellamen have new signing Richard Jones available for the visit of Longlevens AFC to the Racecourse Ground looking to end a run of three games without a win.
As we mentioned, Binfield are on the road and have a tough trip to Flackwell Heath – their second match against a top five side in a week.
The other games in the division sees Ardley United at home to Highmoor-IBIS, the big one – Thatcham Town vs Thame United and Tuffley Rovers at home to Henley Town.
Bluefin Sport Hellenic League Challenge Cup
There are a good number of second round ties involving East Berkshire sides with Bracknell Town heading to Division 1 West Shrivenham. The Robins are (dare we say it) in great form and have won their last four games in a row.
Sandhurst Town are the underdogs when they visit Premier Division Royal Wootton Bassett Town.
The Fizzers are third from bottom in Division 1 East but have four games in hand over most of the sides around them.
Thames Valley Premier League Senior Division
Berks County have a tough assignment at Marlow United as they look to extend their unbeaten run under new manager Nathan Baker to four games.
The Swords are in fifth and make the relatively short journey to South Bucks to face second placed Marlow United.
Uhlsport Hellenic League Division 1 East
AFC Aldermaston will head a little in to the unknown when they visit Holyport on Saturday. The Isotopes are in good form but Holyport are second bottom, albeit by virtue of playing four fewer games than most of the sides around them.
Wokingham & Emmbrook should get back to winning ways at bottom of the table Wantage Town Reserves and should give a debut to new signing Nick Bateman.
The big game of the day will surely be the clash between Woodley United and Penn & Tylers Green at Scours Lane.Upwardly mobile United should provide the toughest test of Penn’s title credentials so far this season with Michael Herbert’s side, in our minds anyway – the favourites to clinch the second promotion spot this season.
Finally, Finchampstead welcome Didcot Town Reserves to the Memorial Ground (ko 2.15pm).
Suburban Football League
Binfield were narrowly beaten last weekend 2-1 by Boreham Wood but can go seventh in the Premier Division at the weekend if they can overcome Royston Town.
