Despite the recent inclement weather, the 2016/17 season has been relatively postponement free compared to recent seasons.
Remember the rampant end to last season? Teams playing three to four games a week – Hellenic Premier side Brimscombe & Thrupp played four games in the final week of the season including two in two days – the second of those the Floodlit Cup Final against Ascot United.
This season though it’s been completely different with very few postponements before Christmas. and moving through the first week of March Binfield have just THREE games left to play in league competition.
It would have admittedly been down to two had Monday nights match against Henley Town gone ahead but for the league fixtures to be nearly complete by the majority of clubs is pretty phenomenal and the Hellenic League’s decision to front load the season with fixtures is paying off.
Here’s Binfield’s remaining league fixtures:
18/03/17: Thatcham Town vs Binfield
05/04/17: Oxford City Nomads vs Binfield
TBC: Binfield vs Henley Town
That won’t be the end of the Moles season though. They of course have the Berks & Bucks County Intermediate Cup Final against neighbours Bracknell Town and they are still in both the Hellenic League Cup and Reading Senior Cup where they face neighbours Ascot United.

We’ve already covered Bracknell’s run in and title race with Thame United here, but in Division 1 East it’s Finchampstead with a limited number of games left.
Jon Laugharne’s side have themselves just three fixtures remaining, currently sit in second place and despite being ahead of the game will almost certainly affect the final outcome of the division – particularly with their final fixture at promotion hopefuls Woodley United.
Here’s Finchampstead’s remaining league fixtures:
21/03/17: Didcot Town Reserves vs Finchampstead
25/03/17: Finchampstead vs Wantage Town Reserves
04/04/17: Woodley United vs Finchampstead
Finch, like Binfield still have cup interests themselves in the Supplementary Cup and the Reading Senior Cup where they will face Woodcote Stoke Row.
