Burghfield FC, founded in 1989 as Burghfield Boys Football Club, already have a roster of eight senior teams and they’re about to add one more as it was announced on Wednesday that they would be forming a women’s team for the 2020/21 season. Their first step of, hopefully, many into the girls and women’s game.
The Twitter statement read, “We are delighted to announce the formation of our new Burghfield FC Women’s Team. The new team will be competing from the beginning of the 2021/22 season, managed by Vicki Brocks, an FA Level 2 coach who currently works with our U7 age group.”
Club chairman Luke Bishop also said in a statement, “I’m delighted that from the 2021/22 season that we will have a ladies team at the club. This has been a long-term aim from the committee and one that fully underlines our commitment to offer football for all.”
