Southern League Premier Division South Hungerford Town have added former Liverpool and Derby County attacker Jordon Ibe to their squad.
The 29-year-old former Premier League winger has joined the Crusaders after a spell this season with Hayes & Yeading.
A statement on the Hungerford website said: “Hungerford Town have completed the signing of former Liverpool and Bournemouth winger Jordon Ibe.
“Hungerford Town are delighted to announce the signing of former Premier League player Jordon Ibe.
“Ibe, 29, joined Liverpool from Wycombe Wanderers in 2011 and made 58 appearances for The Reds scoring four goals.”
Ibe’s senior career began with the Chairboys in 2011 and he was quickly snapped up by Premier League Liverpool beofre a £15 million move to Bournemouth.
In 2023, Ibe made his debut for then National League Ebbsfleet United at Slough Town in the FA Cup where Football in Berkshire dubbed him ‘the most expensive non-league footballer ever‘.
According to FootballWebPages, Ibe made 10 appearances this season for Hayes & Yeading United scoring once.
During January, Hungerford have added several players to their squad including Jerry Lawrence on loan from Bristol Rovers while Sopuruchukwu Obieri has joined on loan from Cheltenham Town.
Danny Robinson’s side currently find themselves in 15th of 22 in a tight division – 13 points off the play-offs but only two away from the relegation places.
The Crusaders have certainly enjoyed an upturn in form in January culminating in a 4-0 win away win at Bracknell Town on Saturday.
