Ascot United have spent the past couple of days announcing the players returning to the Racecourse for another season. They have done so with the ultimate re-signing social media flex of using pictures taken of their players at Wembley Stadium.

The FA Vase winners have secured ten current players for their Southern League adventure at Step 4 including Ollie Harris, Rob Gerrard, Jay Welch, Usman Lalustani, Harry Tucker, Alfie Grant, Jordan Ajanlekoko and Harry Grant.

Former Bracknell Town full-back George Lock has also committed to The Yellas for a seventh season. The Football in Bracknell Player of the Season (Male) nominee has played over 200 times for the Yellas and will make his debut season at Step 4 next term.

Ascot United have also secured the signing of their (and the division) top scorer in Brendan Matthew. During the 2022/23 Combined Counties League season Matthew scored a remarkable 46 in 50 appearances and was a large reason why Ascot secured a promotion to the Southern League.

Dan Bailey is another FA Vase winner who has committed to the Yellas. He’s also taking over the club captaincy from the departing Louis Bouwers who leaves Ascot after making over 200 appearances for the club.
