Full back Richard Jones is back after long injury lay-off

Wallingford Town have announced the signing of former AFC Aldermaston full back Richard Jones.

Affectionately known as ‘Dickie’, Jones links up again with former Atom Men boss Kieran Jennings who is part of Glenn Goudie’s management team at Hithercroft.

Jones has been on the road to recovery from a serious knee injury after making three appearances for Aldermaston last season. He had initially joined Sandhurst Town in the summer but didn’t make a first team appearance.

He did however play a big part in Aldermaston’s first season back at step 6 in 2016/17 making 18 appearances that included a short spell at Ascot United.

Jones’s new side are well set currently in Uhlsport Hellenic League Division 1 East. Wally are fifth after 10 games and are in the Second Round of the Perpetua Press Floodlit Cup where they will play Ardley United.
