George Short joins Southern League side Winchester City

Short had been at Larges Lane for three seasons

Bracknell Town midfielder George Short has made the switch to an Evo Stik Southern League Division One South side after leaving Larges Lane.

Short has been announced as a Winchester City player by the clubs twitter account and has confirmed the move himself.

The midfielder was an important part of the Robins midfield over three seasons, linking up with Jamie McClurg as Bracknell avoided relegation from the Hellenic Premier Division in 2015/16 and finished runners up twice in 16/17 and 17/18, the latter enough for promotion to the Isthmian League.

But for injury, Short would surely have made more than the 77 appearances for Bracknell but he scored 14 goals and won two Hellenic League cups, the Reading Senior Cup and a Berks & Bucks County Cup during his time at Larges Lane.
