Bostik League Division 1 South Central side Bracknell Town have confirmed the re-signing of striker Liam Ferdinand.
‘Ferdi’ rejoins Bracknell from former Hellenic League rivals Thatcham Town having played a key role in the Kingfishers Premier Division title win and ultimate promotion last season.
The ex-Binfield striker had originally moved to Bracknell from the Moles last summer but a suspension hanging over from the previous season and an injury in the opening fixtures saw Ferdinand drop down the pecking order after TJ Bohane returned to Larges Lane.
Unfortunately for Ferdinand, he wasn’t part of Thatcham’s FA Vase success having been cup tied after featuring for Bracknell against Buckingham Athletic.
2017/18
Last season was a positive one for Ferdinand even if it didn’t end in a Wembley appearance. The striker scored four goals in nine appearances for Bracknell before joining Thatcham where he went on to score 34 in 22 games for the Kingfishers alongside the leagues top scorer Shane Cooper-Clark.
Prior to that Ferdinand was the key forward for Binfield where he scored 41 goals in 39 games during the 2016/17 season and 22 in 30 games in 2015/16.
He is the second player to make the move across from Thatcham – the Blues go in to the Evo Stik Southern League while Bracknell have the more London based Bostik League – he joins Josh Helmore in the Robins strike force.
One move that didn’t go through for Bracknell was the addition of Mitchell Parker who chose instead to join Hellenic League Premier Division side Reading City.
