FC Fernhill hit the top in the Bracknell Sunday League Premier Division

Congratulations to Bracknell Spartans u21’s, Bracknell Royals, Bracknell Cavaliers and Hope & Anchor who all won through to the third round of the Berks & Bucks Sunday Junior Trophy. FC Showcase will have to try again next weekend with their second round tie as today’s game was postponed.

FC Fernhill won the big game in the Bracknell Town & District Sunday League Premier Division beating Crowthorne Inn 5-2. Bracknell Rangers made amends for their first defeat of the season last weekend by beating Morale Madrid 4-1 through goals by Ollie Noyes (2), George Lock and Ryan Martin (pen).

Berks County won the other fixture played by 3-2 against Loveman United. These results put Fernhill, Bracknell Rangers and Crowthorne Inn level at the top on 13 points though Fernhill have the better goal difference. All have played 6 games.

None of the top three played in Division 1 after their games fell to the weather, but Crowthorne FC capitalised by beating Athletico Forest by 4-2 to move fourth whilst Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW also won (5-0 against Woodley United and stay in fifth. Elsewhere Finchampstead Athletic were made to work hard by basement team Bracknell Athletic but finished 4-3 winners. Athletico Ascot occupy top spot on 14 points with Sandhurst FFC, Woodley Saints and Crowthorne FC all on 12 points. Sandhurst have 2 games in hand over Ascot.

The top three in Division 2 all won. Bearwood Wanderers beat Golden Farmer Rangers 6-0, Winnersh Rangers triumphed 2-0 against Bracknell Cavaliers whilst William Twigg defeated Bracknell Corinthians 5-1, Nick Cooper getting the consolation goal for Corinthians. Bearwood’s lead at the top remains two points from Winnersh whilst Twigg in 3rd are a further 2 points behind but have played two games less than the top 2.

AFC Dukes made it 5 wins from 5 at the top of Division 3, beating FC Harmanswater 2-1. Winnersh Town, in second, preserved their own winning start (4 wins from 4), beating Silver Birch 5-2. Birch stay in 3rd.

Bracknell Cavaliers Reserves made it 5 wins from 5 to stay top of Division 4 with a 5-2 win against Harts of Bracknell. The leagues highest scorers this week were Silver Birch A who beat AFC Dukes Reserves by 9-2.
