Ascot United emerged victorious at the Bluefin Sport Hellenic League Challenge Cup Final after a 3-1 win over Ascot United at Ardley United on Bank Holiday Monday.
The Yellamen were ahead after 23 minutes following what was listed as an own goal by Windsor goalkeeper Hugo Sobte while Harry Laflin doubled the lead on 28 minutes.
Windsor’s afternoon went from bad to worse when top scorer Dan Roberts was sent off following a foul on James Haworth in first half injury time.
Any hope of a comeback was extinguished on the hour when Dan Price made it 3-0 on the hour but there was a little to celebrate for the Royalists when Corey Parchment pulled one back on 67 minutes.

There was some further action when the referee went down injured and was replaced by the fourth official. Subsequently, Lisa Benn, the fourth official at the recent FA Women’s Cup Final was able to step in and take up the role as fourth official.
Yellamen manager Jamie Tompkins posted on social media after the game: “Big performance in a big game to win the Hellenic League Cup Final!
“Thank you to our squad of players, my management team and to our fantastic supporters! It wasn’t easy but this win is deserved and we are absolutely buzzing to win the cup for the club!”

Slough Town triumph in the County Cup
Back in Berkshire, it was Slough Town who were victorious in the final of the Berks & Bucks FA County Senior Cup at Larges Lane against Reading FC.
The Rebels led 2-0 through Lee Togwell and a Manny Williams penalty before Thierry Nevers pulled one back for Reading before the break.

The winner came in spectacular style from Josh Jackman in the second half, firing home from the edge of the 18 yeard box.
