Ascot United picked up only their second win of the Southern Region Women’s League Premier Division on Sunday as they defeated Barton Rovers 5-0 in a Berkshire derby.
The Yellawomen were only a goal up at half time after Lauren Broadhurst scored after 7 minutes but a second half blitz saw Jessica Perkins score on her debut as well as goals from Lucy Holzman-Clarke, Darcey Young and Katie Vince earn the points in Reading.
There was no fixture for Woodley United who remain fourth in their first season back in the Premier.
In Division 1 Wargrave earned a 2-2 draw on the Isle of Wight against Shanklin while Wokingham & Emmbrook’s trip to Southampton Women’s Development was postponed.
In Division 1 of the Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League, Eversley & California beat Launton 3-1 thanks to an own goal and strikes from Katie Hougham and Megan Averill.
In Division 2 East, Binfield edged a tight tie at Guildford Saints 5-4 thanks to goals from Ruth Bowerman, Kiah Owen and Ariesha Stephenson-Lewis along with two own goals – making up somewhat for a penalty shoot out defeat in the League Cup in November.
